The Story
A prophecy meant to save Camelot becomes the instrument of its destruction.
In the mists of Avalon, Morgane Pendragon grows up under the protection of Viviane, High Priestess of the Old Religion. Since childhood, a mysterious voice has called to her, watched her, and promised her knowledge, power, and freedom. Morgane resists it, convinced that Viviane, Merlin, and her brother Arthur will protect her. But they are all hiding a truth that will destroy her life.
Haunted by a vision of a kingdom drowned in blood, Merlin attempts to alter the course of destiny. He believes that only an heir born from the union of the future king and the future High Priestess can save Camelot and Avalon. During the summer solstice, Arthur and Morgane, masked and unable to recognise each other, are secretly brought together through a sacred ritual. Morgane gives birth to a son who is taken from her before she can even hold him. That child, Mordred, grows up far from her, raised to become the saviour foretold by the prophecy.
Years pass. Arthur builds Camelot upon an ideal of justice and equality, but his marriage to the Christian Guinevere disturbs the balance of the kingdom. When Arthur humiliates Morgane, strikes her, and banishes her for refusing to submit to his new queen, she turns to the only presence that has never abandoned her: the voice.
When Mordred arrives at Camelot and presents himself as Arthur’s son, neither he nor Morgane knows the full truth. United by the same hunger for vengeance and power, they become allies and lovers, determined to destroy the king, the Round Table, and everything they hold responsible for their suffering.
When Morgane finally discovers that Mordred is the child born from her union with Arthur, every belief she has clung to collapses. The voice reveals its true identity. It is neither a god nor a demon. It is the rage, hatred, and death that Morgane has carried within herself all along.
The Dramatic World
Every attempt to escape destiny brings the kingdom closer to it.
Morgane is not presented as a sorceress born to destroy. She gradually becomes a prisoner of her wounds, her thirst for knowledge, and the power she seeks so that she may never be controlled or hurt again. The voice manipulating her gives form to everything she refuses to recognise within herself.
Merlin attempts to prevent his prophecy by manipulating human lives, but each sacrifice brings the kingdom closer to the catastrophe he foresaw. Morgane, Arthur, Viviane, and Mordred all believe they are fighting against fate, while their own choices construct the path leading towards it.
The Old Religion and Christianity both promise order, protection, and truth, but they are also used to justify violence, control, and sacrifice. Behind the gods invoked by the characters stand human beings who often refuse to accept responsibility for their own decisions.
At the centre of the tragedy lies love, desired, forbidden, betrayed, or suppressed. Each character searches for salvation through love, but their fear of losing it ultimately destroys the world they wanted to save.

“What remains of the Arthurian legend when Morgane tells the story?”
I did not want to absolve her or condemn her. I wanted to understand how a child hungry for knowledge, raised to serve a sacred belief, could become the woman who destroys Avalon, Camelot, and her own family. Her violence does not emerge from nothing. It is formed through silence, secrecy, humiliation, and decisions made on her behalf by those who claim to know what must be sacrificed for the greater good.
In this version, no one possesses the entire truth. Merlin manipulates human lives to preserve the balance of the universe. Viviane accepts the unacceptable through love and loyalty. Arthur wants to build a just kingdom, but sacrifices his sister and part of himself to preserve his authority. Guinevere and Lancelot attempt to remain faithful to their vows while being consumed by a love they did not choose. Mordred searches within the crown for the purpose and recognition he has always been denied.
The supernatural world becomes the visible expression of their inner conflicts. The voice that has accompanied Morgane since childhood initially appears to belong to an ancient power. It promises her everything the others have refused her. But this voice is her own. It is pain that has learned to speak, anger that has taken on a face, and hatred that has presented itself as an ally.
Morgane Le Musical does not seek to identify a true god, a perfect hero, or a single person to blame. It tells the story of human beings attempting to control everything that escapes them: destiny, faith, power, death, and love. Each of them believes they are protecting something sacred. Each of them ultimately sacrifices a part of their humanity.
At the heart of this symphonic tragedy lies a simple idea. We may invoke gods, prophecies, or destiny, but it is our choices that create the world in which we live. When love disappears, all that remains is the chaos we have created.
