The Story
Two aliens arrive. One woman begins to return to life.
After burying her husband, Ellie retreats into the apartment they shared, unable to imagine a life beyond grief. Then Argo and Arpi materialise beside her bed. They are visitors from another galaxy, one disciplined and severe, the other affectionate, chaotic, and fascinated by broccoli.
Their mission leads to ETADD, the secret agency where Ellie works. Its director has captured the Monarch of Velarrion Prime, whose absence threatens their world. To rescue him, the aliens need Ellie’s access, her trust, and a series of increasingly improbable disguises.
What begins as a forced alliance becomes an unexpected friendship. While Ellie teaches Argo and Arpi what it means to be human, their chaotic presence draws her back towards laughter, connection, and the beauty of ordinary life.
When the mission turns deadly, Arpi sacrifices his life to save Ellie. His final gift is the certainty that nothing is truly lost. Fifty years later, beyond the limits of physical life, Ellie chooses to return to Earth and experience life once more.

The Awakening places large questions about life, death, love, consciousness, and human possibility inside a fast-moving comedy of extraterrestrial misunderstandings, domestic disasters, and impossible disguises.
A bright science-fiction world meets the recognisable intimacy of an ordinary apartment. Eccentric costumes, physical comedy, stage magic, and everyday objects transformed by alien curiosity allow wonder to emerge from the familiar.
The score moves between comic musical storytelling, lyrical ensemble writing, orchestral colour, and intimate ballads. Its humour opens the door to an emotional story about companionship, loss, and the courage to remain awake to life.

What if awakening begins with laughter?
I wrote The Awakening because something shifted inside me. I began asking who we really are, why we are here, what we are capable of creating, and what remains after death.
I did not want to approach those questions through solemn philosophy. I placed them inside a comedy of aliens, broccoli, exploding technology, impossible disguises, and two beings attempting to survive an ordinary apartment. That is why I call it a funosophical musical. Its ideas emerge through play, while laughter opens the way towards something more intimate.
Ellie begins as a woman who no longer wants to participate in life. Argo brings knowledge. Arpi brings presence. Together they help her remember that grief does not have to become the only proof that love existed.
For me, awakening is not an escape from human life. It is remembering who we are while fully experiencing why we came here: to love, create, laugh, suffer, choose, lose, begin again, and recognise the light within ourselves and one another.
